Hosting / Acceptable use

Play fair.
Keep it clean.

These rules protect clients, visitors and shared infrastructure from illegal content, security threats, spam and excessive resource use.

1. The purpose of this policy

This Acceptable Use Policy sets the rules for using website hosting and digital services provided by Digital Triage, a trading name of G&M Medical Supply Ltd. It forms part of the agreement governed by our Terms and Conditions. By using a hosted service, you agree to follow this policy.

You are responsible for content hosted on your website and for the actions of anyone you permit to access its administrative tools. You must take reasonable steps to keep account credentials secure and access appropriately restricted.

2. Illegal and harmful content

Digital Triage provides professional infrastructure for legitimate businesses. You must not use the services to host, store or distribute material that is illegal under applicable UK law. Prohibited material includes, but is not limited to:

  • Copyrighted material used without permission or another lawful basis.
  • Counterfeit goods or services.
  • Material that unlawfully promotes violence, terrorism or other criminal acts.
  • Unlawfully defamatory, abusive or explicitly threatening content.

3. System security and abuse

Hosted websites may use shared infrastructure. You must not do anything that threatens the availability, integrity or security of the services, Digital Triage systems or another client’s website. You must not:

  • Upload or distribute viruses, trojans, worms, ransomware or other malicious code.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to servers, accounts, data or other clients’ websites.
  • Use the services to launch or assist a denial-of-service attack.
  • Host phishing pages or other content designed to steal credentials, payment details or personal information.
  • Probe, scan or test system vulnerabilities without prior written permission.

4. Email and spam

You must not use your website or Digital Triage infrastructure to send unsolicited bulk email, promotional spam or automated junk messages.

Newsletters and marketing messages sent through or generated by your website must comply with applicable UK data-protection and electronic-marketing rules, including UK GDPR and PECR. Messages must include a clear and effective way for recipients to opt out where required.

5. Resource usage and fair play

Hosting packages are intended for the typical traffic, storage and processing needs of business and ecommerce websites. Shared hosting capacity must be used fairly. You must not use the service for:

  • Cryptocurrency mining.
  • Large-scale file sharing or backup storage unrelated to the hosted website.
  • Continuous or unusually heavy background processes that unreasonably consume server resources.
  • Any activity designed to evade package limits or interfere with service for other users.

If genuine business growth creates unusually high resource needs, Digital Triage may discuss a more suitable hosting arrangement with you.

6. Enforcement and suspension

If Digital Triage reasonably believes this policy has been breached, it may investigate and take action proportionate to the nature, seriousness and urgency of the issue. Action may include:

  • Requesting that you correct the breach within a stated period where it is safe and reasonable to do so.
  • Removing or disabling access to offending content.
  • Immediately suspending a website where necessary to protect people, systems, data, infrastructure or Digital Triage’s reputation.
  • Permanently terminating the affected service for a serious, repeated or unresolved breach.
  • Preserving evidence and reporting suspected illegal activity to law enforcement, regulators or other competent authorities where appropriate or legally required.

Urgent action may be taken without advance warning where delay could increase harm or legal risk. Where appropriate, Digital Triage will explain the action taken and what is required to restore service.

If service is terminated because of your breach, upfront payments are not refundable and amounts due under the applicable minimum contract term remain payable in accordance with your contract and the Refund and Cancellation Policy.

7. Reporting a concern

To report suspected abuse or ask a question about this policy, email Matt@digitaltriagehq.co.uk. Include the affected website address and enough information for the issue to be assessed.
